You're giving Drouin away, doubt the Jets do that.

Why are you giving up more in a trade for Killorn then you're getting for Drouin? Killorn played in one of the best offenses in the league, had a career high shooting percentage and is 31. Compared to Drouin who is 5 years younger and although struggled with injuries this season showed he plays well with Suzuki in the playoffs.

You could probably get more for Drouin. Dallas is a fine fit, but they currently don't have the cap space to take him. Unless you're willing to take equal cap back (which you aren't because this ACGM scenario is about clearing cap space), it's simply too much cap for Dallas to take on

I agree I could have asked for more for Drouin but wasn't really sure what to add. Stranges fills the middle 6 LW future role quite well, I kind of thought Stranges + 3rd = 2nd + 3rd in the Killorn deal. I feel like Winnipeg would love to get Chiarot and Kulak for 2 prospects and a 2nd they are kind of desperate for D right now and both Kulak and Chiarot would strengthen their D significantly.

Dunn would probably sign that OS, but STL could match by putting Tarasenko and Steen on LTIR until they can figure out what to do. If not, those comp. picks are pretty nice, and then the Blues have like $12m coming off the books at the end of the season and would have some bad blood with Bergevin so maybe there's an OS for Kotkaniemi, then Suzuki/Romanov the following year, or Caufield the following year, etc. Would kinda suck for both teams having to live with jacked up prices instead of just keeping their guys. Might be why the GMs don't prefer them.

Dallas can make other moves to clear cap themselves, Drouin at that price or even with another pick would be worth the work to try and clear space.

Yeah cause the Canes were so upset they sent an OS to Domi and Mete right?! The OS isn't used often cause it gets matched easily when teams have the cap space to match. St. Louis doesn't have the space to match and Montreal could go as high as 5.5 Mil. MB usually signs all his UFA's and RFA's early so they don't have to worry about an OS, perhaps maybe other GM's should consider this best practice IF they don't want hurt feelers!!!
