Description

Ruuta/Bowey/Ruthwedel camp competition for the 3rd RHD pairing. The other 2 will be the depth/scratches/injury replacement help.

Athanasiou gives the 3rd line 2 good scoring wingers on the sides of Jankowski. And Athanasiou gives the Pens a way better 1st/2nd line center if Crosby or Malkin get hurt. He would be alot better option than McCann or Janko.

Bury Sceviour contract in the minors and trade his expiring contract at the trade deadline. RIIkola is on a two-way contract and can start the year in the minors(unless there is a taxi-squad) and can be called up if any injuries to the LHD.

Madison Bowey was literally one of the worst players in The NHL over the last few years. The Penguins just got rid of one of those guys. If you are signing Jan Rutta, a much better player, what's the point of bringing in Bowey, who is an AHL level player on an NHL contract.
