Leafs should have accepted that trade as originally presented. Agree with you they should circle back on it.

So Florida, a team trying to lower their cap spendings, has the privilege of taking on more cap (we assume, not knowing what Weegar signs for, nor Dermott) and they get to add in a 3rd because Toronto doesn’t need Kerfoot anymore? It doesn’t add up to me.

Even if you break it down, at best Kerfoot gets the Leafs a 3rd, so that means Dermott for Weegar is fair?

Are you aware that it was confirmed that the Panthers offered Weegar for Johnsson and Dermott and the leafs said no. Kerfoot is arguably a better player then Johnsson as he can play center or wing and he is actually good defensively

It still doesn’t make sense for Florida to kick in a 3rd. The Leafs missed out before, not the Panthers.
