Vancouver has less interest in overpaid overrated 7th defenseman Justin Holl than extending Loui Eriksson to another 6x6 contract. That's a pay to move contract in Holl now, he is drastically overpaid given the modern market.

No way both Lehtonen and Barabanov make the team. No way 2 Russian players come over and start on a contending team in there 1st year in the States. Let alone their 1st year in the NHL. The game is very different, not just the NHL ring being smaller, which is hard enough to get used too. But they have to get accustomed to everything else as well. On and off the ice. Maybe Lehtonen, the way better player of the two, make the team. But that’s still unsure.

For a extremely picky fan base. You guys sure do have a lot of confidence in 2 players that never played a single game in the NHL. And no one has even seen play yet..lol. Especially trusting Barbanov to be a 3rd line winger..on a play-off team. Good luck. I can see Lehtonen, especially being the better of the two, being a D-man on a 3rd pairing. But both of them, that’s a lot of trust. I doubt the coaches or GM have either of them penciled in as starters right now. They can’t possible.

I could see them not playing him next year and not burning a year off his ELC. They have a lot of forward depth right now. There’s a good chance there won’t be a CHL season next year due to the pandemic, maybe they get an exception to play overseas.

😂 well then both of them will stay in the KHL. There will not fly over to North America to play in the AHL. Also Lehtonen is LEGIT!!!

I will agree that Lehtonen looks legit from what I’ve read too. But we will see. It’s a different game man. Especially for a D-man. The rink being smaller, although a huge difference, isn’t even the biggest difference in the NHL game. A lot bigger players. And speed isn’t gonna kill as much on a smaller rink. And then getting accustomed to all the off the Ice sh*t too. It’s just a big ask on a contending team. I could see on a team re-building. But not a win-now team.

Like I said, no way, even the coaches or GM have either of them penciled in as a starter right now. They can’t. They haven’t played one game in the NHL yet..lol

Well mikheyev worked out fine for us before his injury, I don't see why barabanov and lehtonen wouldn't either.

Good luck man. A lot of trust to put in two 1st year players from Russia on a contending team. Mikheyev is way bigger than both of these guys. These guys rely on speed. Like the Russian game. And the huge rink.

Don't worry your very valid and logical points aren't lost on all of us leaf fans. You are 100% correct and if barabanov don't like it he can go back to Russia as we have more than enough depth.
