Description

overpay Hoffman to come here on a one year deal, Friedman says he's interested in a one-year deal. Give him basically whatever cap space is left so that he can help fill Laine's void in the top six for at least this year.

Included Roslovic in the Laine trade considering he's from there and he also is looking for a change of scenery. Obviously not a guarantee we can get Werenski for Laine, but that'd be the ideal 'reasonable-ish' return as a Jets fan.

Jackets already traded a pretty good LHD this offseason, but they could trade for another half-decent one, probably?

As a CBJ fan, I can't see this happening. Werenski is likely untouchable without greater term on Laine, and Jones is basically untouchable except for a very few names leaguewide (McDavid, Matthews, MacKinnon, Pettersson... maybe one or two others, but Laine isn't on that list).
