How exactly did this solve the cap problem? In this they have 100 K in cap space and right now they have just under a million. You made their cap worse.

So Brendan Smith signs a 1 year deal with Tampa for less then what he's currently making now, Don't think so Smith will get at least easily $3.75 million over 3-4 years on his next deal.

There's no way to "solve" the problems. They will to have to lose one or more of Johnson, Palat and Drouin who are all going to need new deals and they will be tight to the cap.
