Description

If Rutherford signed Haula and made our 3rd line at least a bit of a threat, I wouldn't mind this team. The third pair might struggle a little bit, but you could switch Pettersson and Matheson to balance them a bit more.
Maybe look to trade one or both of Sceviour and Riikola to add a bit of cap space and fill the third line RW hole. (if someone like Leivo, Duclair, or Kahun were willing to take a cheap 1 year deal that would be sweet, but I don't see that as likely or try to fill it at the trade deadline)
Honestly though, a good 3C is the last important piece this team needs.

I mean that bottom pairing is pretty bad. I might consider that a hole that GMJR tried to cover with a plug that's too small

I hate to tell you but that’s our team. And Jankowski is just as good and more upside than Haula. And for a league min. contract. Everything you read says JR is happy w/ Janko as a 3rd line C. and expects them to unleash his potential. Atleast he is really good defensively and good on the PK.

We just traded for Sceviour, no way they turn around and trade him b4 he plays 1 game..lol. He’s our 4th line RW until Z.A.R gets back and is healthy. He’s out 6 months after surgery. I can see the Pens trading him and his expiring deal at the deadline for something though. And Riikola is thought so highly of in the organization he just got rewarded this offseason w/ that contract. No way they trade him. They love him and think he can play in the top 4 in the future.
