Like I said, the Rangers would make this trade. The Hawks are the ones that decline this because they aren't getting that much and retaining 4.5M.

It's honestly so annoying hearing fan bases overrated their prospects. Especially the Rangers fanbase who think they can trade Buchnevich, Strome, Smith, and a late 1st for Eichel.

Now you're just babbling. I never said it wasn't a fair trade. Just the Rangers won't make it. It makes 0 sense to a rebuilder with our timeline. Trade him somewhere else.

Byram and Newhook might represent a top pairing stud d man and a top 6 C or they might turn out like Bogosian and Yakupov. That's why they are called prospects.

The above trade proposal is from a Chicago perspective because if we are to trade him, we would retain a lot to maximize value in our best interest. For a team like Colorado, having a player like Kane would most likely put them in the same conversation as the Lightning as far as "stacked" is concerned and likely Stanley Cup favorites, while simultaneously shortening their window of contention. It's kind of a trade off. I can understand Colorado wanting to lengthen their window of contention. But the value is absolutely there, especially for a team like Colorado that is set up to win now.

If I was Colorado, I probably wouldn't do it because having 10+ years without needing a rebuild is very beneficial financially and I would have enough faith in the team as is. Which is why I mentioned a conditional pick going to Colorado to help minimize the risk.

All valid points but a conditional pick doesn’t balance that scale imo for COL to not only mortgage their long term future but literally putting COL into a cap crunch after this season. COL isn’t a team whose window closes in the next 2-3 years.

Yeah I know. I wouldn't make the trade if I was Colorado

But why Toews? he does not fit our timeline.

He's 32.
If Chytil continues to grow, Toews becomes 3C until he retires. "Oh, darn, can't have that!"

Like these trades haven't blow up in our faces before. I'm sure you'd be fine keeping Strome around anyway smfh.

NOT doing these trades cost Lundqvist a cup. They actually have the assets to trade this time, Mr historian.

Oh wow. Really? Not the lack of a 1C? 1D? stars? This is the epitome of a Rangers trade under the slather era. All they did was throw the whole farm at these players and any big names that we're available. THAT is what cost them. From Richards, Yandle, Shattenkirk, Gaborik, Nash, St. Louis, Staal,Clowe, etc..

I doubt the Aves would still do it BUT if they did I bet they win the cup. How about

Kane @ 6M + Conditional 1st 2024 (if Aves don't win the cup by 2024 then they get this) for Byram and Newhook

lol

pick wold have to be very protected because the hawks would be going into a full rebuild and don't want to risk that pick being top 10

Bro it's Patrick Kane

Bro it’s 3 years of a guy when his deal ends when he’s 35 for 2 of the top prospects in the nhl

Even Kane is not getting that sort of high end return, his career is in the last half now. No one is giving up hoping they can squeeze a few more seasons

Kane past his prime must be so much better than everyone else's prime than because over the past two years he has significantly more points than just about everyone in the league lol

I guess that's the price you pay to actually win something haha

When was the last time y'all won?

Oh and Panarin's calder doesn't count because it came from us haha

Won? yeah its been awhile. Whole point of rebuilding properly to build a good team and throwing puzzle pieces for a 32-year-old $10.5M C is not how to properly configure the final product.

Yeah and not making poor trades. Like giving a guy like Trouba 8M after you just traded the better of the two defensemen and added a 1st to get him.
