Sabres Playoff Bound

Created by: gipper0073

Initial Creation Date: Oct. 18, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This lineup would be devastating. And sustainable. Need $3.25 mill to cover Hall and Laine ($9 mill each) get Staal to take a haircut to $1.5 next year. Or let him walk. Move Cozens up and slot Ruotsalainen in at 3C. In net Hutton is off the books next year and replaced by UPL...savings of almost $2 mill. Montour walks. Joker jumps to $3 mill. Find an entry level replacement and we are saving about $1 mill there. McCabe is gone. Replace with Bryson or Pilut. Savings of a couple mill. Pay Dahlin $5.5 on a bridge and we’re good to go.

Given it's only 2 years of Lindholm though not bad

Aw come on ya gotta play Laine with EicHall lol

With GMs down on Ristolainen adding Thompson or someone seems required there and maybe more yet

Eh not really. Its not even close for a trade deadline deal on his contract year.

With the flat cap...money is everything. The jets have a lot of young offensive prospects. They don’t wanna pony up $9 mill + for Laine. Risto fills a top 4 role at a decent price. They got space to give a young guy a chance up front at a fraction of the cost. And two high end picks to use or have as trade assets. Lindholm is 2 years from ufa. The Ducks are 20 years from contention. Getzlaf is fading fast and a ufa next year I believe. Mitts still has a very good chance at being a top end center. Or strong 2c at the least. He’s 21. Zegras and Mitts down the middle!? Miller gives them a solid Dman for now. Laaksonen is an interesting prospect who I think will end up being a long time top 4 d at minimum. And then there’s the 2nd rounder as well. I don’t think those trades are far fetched at all. It’s all about what works for your team...not perceived “even” value

Trades would all be rejected and the next season with Laine dahlin and jokiharju all needing raises would be a nightmare.

Mittelstadt as a recent 8th overall pick has significant value and he's progressing similarly to most players around that pick range in terms of points/game etc.

Miller is valuable and those other assets help too

Not amazing but a pretty reasonable return

Omg that okposo to the wild trade is so bad. I mean, honestly it’s just so bad. Only way that works is if it’s rasmus Dahl in and you just put the wrong one in. Then I bet they’d take it. Otherwise your values are just so far off. Wow

The only reason that we would trade Hampus Lindholm to you would be to get Henri Jokiharju along with your 2021 first.

Risto is so bad at defence it’s not even funny, so I would rather have a forward who sucks defensively but has the potential to put up 50 goals then a defender who doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing
