Team: 2020-21 New York Rangers

The New York Rangers were officially ranked as having the deepest prospect pool and level of young talent in the entire NHL and this came even before selecting Alexis Lafrenière 1st overall in this past year’s draft. So now with the 2020 NHL Entry Draft behind us, I wanted to put together a team of all of the best players both on the roster and in the system ages 23 and under. So anyone drafted in 2015 or later is eligible for this team whether they’re current main roster players or prospects. The one exception of a player over 23 that I am making will be Igor Shesterkin and that’s simply because A) he’s a goalie and goalies traditionally take longer to develop and B) he hasn’t had a ton of NHL experience yet and this upcoming 2020-21 season will be considered his official rookie season. So even though he’s already 24 and will probably be 25 by the time the season starts at this point if it starts at all, I’m making an exception for him because of his rookie status. The best of the rest includes the following:

Forwards:
Aaltonen-Henriksson-Rueschhoff
Vierling-Tarnstrom-Ciccolini
Fontaine-Edstrom-Hughes
Elmer-Rempe-Ronning

Defense:
Rykov-Skinner
Hajek-Ragnarsson
Kjellberg-Sjallin

Goalies:
Garand
Huska

Scratches: Crawley, Ollas, Lindbom

The way the lines are arranged is how good I project each player to be and keep in mind that just because I have some players in the AHL, doesn’t mean that they don’t have NHL futures. I just think that the players listed on the main roster both playing and scratched will be better than the players who are listed in the AHL just for the sake of context. This is just my opinion though. Please feel free to rank the players and prospects however you want and how you think each one will project and which players will project better than others.
