Description
I tried to makes the trades/signings somewhat reasonable, but you guys can judge for yourselves.

The Dunn trade was suggested by some Blues fans after the Krug signing.

With Miller, from my view the Canucks could use another RHD. I'm not sure how the cap works on their end, Nucks fans will have to tell me if that works.

It has been rumored that the Sabres and Jackets have had discussions on a goalie trade. I'm not totally sure why Columbus would be looking to move a goalie, but I'm working off that rumor. A 2nd seems like decent value, and could be ammo to use to bolster their wings.

Olofsson is a moderately long-term deal at a decent price. Ullmark gets a copy of what Georgiev recently got. And Reinhart gets a 1 year deal and an opportunity to prove that he can drive his own line away from Eichel.

Roast away!

Yeah, Columbus was asking for a top 6 wing in return for a goalie... buffalo isn’t doing that and a 2nd isn’t going to get Columbus to move a goalie. We have no reason to move one.

CBJ is looking to contend this year so I highly doubt this is the trade they are seeking. Probably want a top six forward in exchange.

Blues probably not interested in that. CM seems like a bust

Not bad. I think Columbus would be looking for an immediate impact forward in return. Maybe Tage and a pick for Korp would be better? I don't want Reinhart to get 1 year, 2 years at least otherwise we gotta sign him, Dahlin, and Joki the following year

Blues won't be interested in that. Vince Dunn is worth around a 1st and a Top Prospect. CM isn't valued very high anymore actually very much a bust material player. Pilut doesn't move the needle either.

Vancouver doesn’t have the cap space. Even if they did, they traded 3rd for a far superior d in Schmidt. For Miller I think a 5th more likely.

Vince Dunn isn't worth both a 1st and a top prospect. He's worth a top 6 potential guy though

If we don't get that it would be one of the biggest mistakes Blues will ever make.

If you're holding out for top prospect and a 1st rounder, you're never going to deal him. He's a really good player and will increase, but dude, sometimes the eye test is more important than the analytics, especially when looking at guys who play in strong systems.
The Blues could get a top 6 forward for him, but not a top prospect and 1st unless the team trading has an abundance of 1sts. You might get a mid tier prospect and a late 1st. So someone like Bode Wilde and a 1st from the Isles (but they likely won't deal for a LHD).

Dunn pinches boards better than most, he gets back, he knows how to play the offense smart, he can hold the boards in his own end decent he can drive the puck well knows when to lay a hit, he makes some pretty good defensive plays too. It’s not all analytical analysis from me. It’s also eye and I’m saying that a team that will use him as a Top Pairing defenseman because he just plays better than Dahlin in certain areas that fit a Top pairing. You understand the fact we aren’t desperate for cap space when we put Steen and Tarasenko on LTIR.

I never brought the cap space into the discussion for a reason.
And yes, Dunn does some incredibly good things when he's out there and I think he will still be a very good defenseman. Top pairing? Possibly, but a top 20 defenseman in the NHL? No, he won't.
I like his game, but he makes a lot of mistakes out there. He's certainly better than Faulk, i agree with that, but he still makes quite a few mistakes and doesn't ever take over a game. Again, i love Dunn and want him to be a Blues player for a long time, but he doesn't deserve to get back a top prospect and a first. That's just not reasonable
