Still curious how they qualified Jost at 874 when his ELC was 885 but wow what awesome deal either way

Why was that deal so cheap?
Should've been at least $1.5M.

Only 5% raise if you are under 1m salary as a QO. He didn’t have a full 925k elc previously

Hasn't he proved that he's worth a bit more then that though? To me he has.

Sakic said they discussing a 2 year deal or he was going to accept his QO. Him doing that is more doing the avs a solid so they aren’t too tight up against the cap once they sign Toews

When there's good UFA's like Nieto taking $700k 1 year deals just to stay in the league Jost doesn't have much leverage, especially without arbitration rights.

His base salary was $832,500, his QO is only a 5% raise on base salary excluding bonuses

I really hope if Jost is on the Avs he is given a solid regular role a C even if it is the 4C with Calvert and PEB shifting to wing.

I would bump up burakovsky to the top line and Landeskog on the 2nd line. That would give burakovsky plenty of opportunity to score a bunch and that 2nd line would be nasty to play against.

The top line need a guy who plays D. Landeskog is effectively the center on that line.
