I wouldn't be trading that 1st round pick if I were you... at least top 10 protect it or something

I don't think the Devils and the Wild are a very good trading partners. The Wild need a good young top 6 center if we trade Dumba and the two the Devils have they shouldn't move. The Wild could use that pick but the Devils shouldn't trade it. Besides, next year's draft is probably the deepest group for defenseman that we've seen in quite some time and the guy the Devils could get in the top 10 may end up being a better player than Dumba.

I don't think it's enough, not without that 1st anyway. I could see a case for it to be top 3 or top 5 protected, but if it's top 10 there isn't enough incentive for us to do it.

Zacha isn't much more than a middle sixer and I don't know enough about Carrick to know what his ceiling is.

If Dumba is moved, it would have to be a prospect in the Frost/Patrick or Glass/Krebs type of range.

Otherwise what you've offered isn't bad, per se. I think it could get the job done provided we get a legitimate shot at a top ten pick.

The 2022 pick would have to be free and clear, no protection since it’s so far into the future and the only reason to take that is to get another shot at the lottery. Maybe make the 2021 pick a top 50 (aka a 1st if NJD makes the playoffs or a 2nd otherwise)? I think Zacha could be worthwhile if the Wild managed to swing a Barlow trade, assuming Ek or Rossi goes along with that deal.
