I don’t understand the signing of jeremie Roy. Mtl has plenty of RD. Juulsen, fleury, brooks. Also my gut edmundson plays with Petry. Romanov doesn’t start his nhl career on his off side.

But a good deep line up.

I would assume it's because he's francais!

It makes sense because they really only have 5 RHD between mtl and Laval. With Juulsen staying in mtl they would like to have 3 down in Laval competing for the next spot available. Asking all these LHD to play the right side isn’t ideal. Mtl loaded with LHD and thin on rhd

I would also like to see Frederik Gauthier sign with the habs at the league minimum. He can play good minutes on the 4th, splitting ice-time with Evans.

That sounds like the plan. Although that could always change, just like Chiarot was supposed to play with Petry but it didn’t work out.

It's for Laval. One of Fleury/Juulsen will probably be up to start the season so they need depth on RD behind Brook.

Or because he's a former #31 overall pick with some untapped potential.

This team is low-key pretty scary for next season. A lot of great play drivers and annoying players mixed with KK and Suzuki who will both be legit top 6 centers. I don't see them finishing outside the top 2 in an all Canadian division.

I like attention to detail, so I love the Roy signing. He is the ideal type of guy to get for Laval.

I'm hopeful Juulsen will make the habs next season, so that would give us Fluery / Brook / Roy for Laval.

Edit:
Was he not qualified? If not, why?

I speak French and I see both sides of the argument. I was never a big fan of Timmins and even Bergevin but the last few drafts have been good.

In that respect and for Laval, okay

Juulsen can’t be sent to Laval without having to clear waivers
So Fleury Brook are the only RHD in Laval. With Roy we got :
Ouellet-Fleury
Olofsson-Brook
Leskinen-Roy

It was just an attempt at a laugh...the whole "If the coach doesn't speak french" thing kind of bothers me, as it severely limits the teams candidates at any given time. CJ is a very good coach, but they all have a shelf life.

Roy was a decent prospect, and skill-wise, he'd be a good pickup for a lot of teams-I wonder why SJ didn't tender him though?

I lived in Quebec the first 22 yrs of my life and left because of the constant undertow of tension of the language. I see both sides but it gets heavy after awhile. twelve of my friends left and only four returned, the other eight settled in BC, ON, NB, PEI & NS. We all still love the Habs but happy we no longer hear the french/english debate. With that said, we all agreed, should the Habs make it to the Finals, we are all going and when they win the cup, we don't care about the cost, we are going.

Nice! I'm from PEI...there's a decent sized french population here.
