21 man roster, no cap and no first rounder. Don't know how those two additions from Florida make the Leafs much better.

Weegar is a LD too, which just goes to show so many Leaf fans are obsessed with which hand a defenseman shoots with over which side is he used to playing.

I'm amazed on CapFriendly on why the Leafs and only the Leafs need three or four right handed shots Dman on their team. Seems like all the other 30 teams (and sometimes their minor leaguers) if they are right shooting are so much better than any of the Leafs Dmen excluding Reilly and Muzzin. IMO Holl was the Leafs best RHD last season...played hard minutes and was plus player, but because he is unknown and is on a modest contract, so many think he is expendable , Barrie and Ceci were the Leafs worse Dmen last season.

Holl seemed fine the 2 Leafs games I saw last season. I don't see a reason for the Leafs to get rid of him at this point, they have some depth with guys on ELCs ready to play the bottom pair and if one of them shines over Holl, having a $2m 3rd pairing guy isn't the worst thing a team can do if they have a top 4 guy on an ELC. Only question really is will Brodie have chemistry with Rielly (or Muzzin) but no way to know until they get some games in.

it would be nice to upgrade from Holl to Weegar, but damn is the difference between them not remotely close to that value
