Solid no from MTL. They do not need another D, nor are they going to trade one of the best 2 way C in the league for a 31 yr old D and a pick that will be very high,..they can get much better for Danault.

Even i'll admit that's a crap offer for Danault, And are you really going to pay Danault about $5.5 mil-$6.0 mil per season for 3C duties?

Danault would be a great add for Colorado. Cole doesn't make sense for the Habs though, and I'm not even sure their cap allows for that. I would think an offer would need to be more like Compher plus a first, and probably plus something else.

Even then I don't see them moving Danault until the deadline, and they would only move him if they don't see themselves as a contender and think they can't re-sign him.
