Opening Night without Patrick

Created by: MGabes19
Team: 2020-21 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 19, 2020
Published: Oct. 19, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Part 2 of 2. See Part 1 and read description before looking at this.

DIFFERENCES:

Obviously, Patrick. To fill his spot, I chose Frost, but I am torn here. I also think Laughton could step into 3C and Laczynski/Rubstov could play 4C. I am not high on Rubtsov and think he will never pan out, so I am leaning towards Laczynski in this scenario.

As for a call up/scratch guy, I think it'll either be Twarynski or Andreoff.

Let me know what ya'll think of my two scenarios.

Not at the time. He and Hischier were clear cut above the rest, and Patrick was not diagnosed with a migraine disorder when he was drafted. Hindsight is 20/20.

Terrible draft pick. All 3 players taken after him miles ahead of him.

Like he said, hindsight is 20/20. By that metric, Hischier was also a terrible pick because Heiskanen, Makar, and Patterson are miles beyond him. Remember at the time Yakupov was considered a number 1 pick by all scouts. We all know how that turned out

Well apparently not. Isn't the story that the Oilers scouts voted 12-4 to draft Murray and Kates veto'd it and forced them to take Yak?

I'm talking about Central Scouting. In terms of Edmonton, i believe it had more to do with the fact Edmonton needed a defenseman more than Yakupov.
