This team would be lethal if they could get the saves. I hope Blues can get more than that if they trade Dunn. But that Toews trade scared the hell out of me...

Good PP contributor for the 2nd unit.
The Bruins PP will regress because they lost Krug
Im not saying Chaisson can replace Krug, cuz he cant
But he will help it out quite a bit

Yeah, I based this trade on the Toews trade

I think the value should be similar

Bruins have Pastrnak, Kase and Smith on the RW. Studnicka if injury. $2.15M is too much for the 4th line and rather give Bjork that PP mins. Anyways, we have Krejci/DeBrusk, Coyle, Smith, Kase and Grzelcyk for the second unit so we don't need Chiasson. It's not a good deal for Boston. And if he was to be an Oiler, play him in the top9, not on the 4th line.

He isn't a big upgrade to what we already have.

To be fair, the Islanders are in a much worse spot than the Blues in regards to cap space. They have $9M to re-sign Barzal and Pulock and that’s AFTER trading Toews. Don’t see the Blues trading Dunn unless it’s for a roster player or close to becoming one. If Blues need to move cap in the event of Steen avoiding retirement, Bozak would be the one to move (his NTC is gone at the end of January).

For the Pit trade....the value it probably about right for a depth defensive forward. I dont think Pit moves him mostly because hes going to start the year on IR and they'll see if any of his offense comes back before doing anything. But analytically he was one of the best defensive forwards in the league last season. If GMJR was going to move him i think he would try to milk that fact and squeeze more for him.

The Jets won't move 5 years of Ehlers for 2 years of Nurse, 2 players they don't need and a first.

The Jets dont value Ehlers as much as they should. Hes a top 2 forward on the team.
Hes not even on PP1
The are desperate for a dman

Plus getting a pick, depth forward and prospect wont hurt

The Jets shouldnt make this trade, but I can see Chevy making this out of neccessity

I dont see the Blues making this trade,I would hope Armstrong is smarter than that, but then again he makes some terrible moves (see Faulk extension).

You may have been right if any of the points you assumed were actually true. But none of them are.

Nurse is an LD, so not a long team need and you're only a season off on being desperate for defenseman.

Chevy will leave making bad trades to the Oilers. That is their specialty.

Is Dunn worth that contract? I'm not sure... one thing I DO know is that he isn't ready to play 1st pairing comp. He was one of the most sheltered 3rd pairing defensemen in the league last year.

He was excellent when he played tho

He can be a legit 1A dman on a team

Not well.

This trade has never made a lick of sense. Wasn’t it an eklund thing?

Not a chance. He's only ever played very sheltered, you can't say with certainty that he can even be a top-4, let alone a 1A. That's laughable.

Hes been elite for the last 3 years.
He mightve been sheltered recently
But I would expect him to be on the top pair this year

He's like Grzelcyk in BOS - great numbers because he's highly sheltered. He's not a top-50 defenseman in the league. If he was it would cost more than a couple of 2nds to get him.
