Five Americans On The Blueline (Trouba/RNH/Fayne Murray/Savard/Dubi shuffle)

Description
I'm not the first to advance this proposal (I'd been considering something like this but never tried posting it, here or anywhere else), but I'm shamelessly stealing it all the same, mostly for the sake of the "five Americans" title. :)
EDIT: The original concept comes from steinosaur19 - although it was on a different forum entirely, and originally proposed earlier than I was comfortable with. But now...

The key idea is, frankly, that Werenski has been good. REALLY good. Like, insanely amazingly good. Good enough that we might be able to spare Ryan Murray early, and in so doing open up an opportunity to upgrade our center depth.

One of the bigger question marks above and beyond "do we get away with any of the below" is Trouba's agent, of course - Kekalainen and Overhardt, thanks to the Johansen mess, do not exactly have what one might call a good professional working relationship. Then again, they did just fine together with the Dubinsky contract, so maybe it's possible for reason and good will to break out.

As for the rest of the roster, this presumes that the guys we presently have on SOIR will eventually get better and head home and so we'll have different guys called up. I also tried to get as close to Clarkson's actual LTIR relief as I reasonably could; I ended up off by $1.

Trouba for Murray works. WPG should strongly consider it. Don't think they'll get a better deal. Im not saying Murray is better than Trouba. Just that i don't think they'll get a better deal.

The EDM deal is actually pretty decent also. Yes they are losing the best player in the deal but they are also losing Fayne's full contract as well dampens the loss. Replacing Nuge with a decent 2/3 centerman in Dubinsky and a much improved top 4 RH shot dman in Savard. Only problem is that I think Edm shouldn't have to be taking on more salary here. I would even this trade out what ever way necessary to make the cap hit both sides closer to even. Then I think you got yourself a deal.

I am off the mind to not touch this team. Murray cost less and in my opinion has a better overall game than Trouba. Value is right but I don't see the point.

Semi agree. If anything, CLB should just move out Johnson as Werenski and Murray can handle the top 2 and 4 minutes going forward on the left side. On the right side they have a perfect fit already in Jones and Savard.

The cap hits already are pretty even - the difference is less than the league minimum ($475k - Dubinsky/Savard are $5.85m+$4.25m=$10.1m; RNH/Fayne are $6m+$3.625m=$9.625m). I frankly don't see that as being enough to warrant significant changes to the proposal.

The primary point is to get that younger upgrade at C. It's not strictly necessary, and we're perfectly fine on the blueline if we just stand pat, but it's something worth thinking about IMO.
