Hey Hockey Guys and Gals! So clearly I have no clue where this team is going to go next? So I just decided to trade Holl for a mid rounder and a guy like Maxime Comtois ( like the guy as a player since his world junior days ). Honestly, this team is looking pretty sharp and I'm still coming off my Joe Thornton signing high that I had on Friday ( already pre-ordered the jersey already, just waiting for the arrival) . This week is arbitration week and I am definatly sure that Mikheyev, Dermott and Anderson will be Leafs at the end of the week but at what price? Friedman stated that Mikheyev's camp believe Mikheyev is worth 2.7 mil for 1 year, while the Leafs low-balled at 1 mil for 2 years, but that is the process of arbitration. Mikheyev and his agent have more of a say on what Ilya gets payed but the Leafs can set the term limits so if Mikheyev can fall within the 1.25 - 1.85mil range for 2 years I'd be content. Dermott's contract is the one that's interesting. Dermott no doubt has a good ceiling when it comes to talent and development but is very prone to bad decision making at times. Not to mention the Leafs plan for him is to play on the Right Side ( Believe it when i see it?) as for value, I believe he'd fall into the 1.1- 1.7 mil range for two years. Josh Anderson maybe a mil for 2 years? I don't exactly see the need to get more forward depth ( but an Ilya Kovalchuk would be a lovely sight in the Blue and White donning the Leaf because why not?!?) and im hopeful that players like Lehtonen, Sandin, and Vesey show up and live up to their hype/potential. Only time will tell? If you have any thoughts on how the season will go comment down below!

Comtois is exempt from the expansion draft, so I doubt that we'll be trading him. But we'll give you a fourth for Holl.

I'd take a 4th! and thanks been here a couple of weeks actually but I want to practice and expand my sports writing and hopefully start up a hockey blog in the future. My dream is to work for TSN or Sportsnet so I'm on here to connect with like-minded hockey fans like myself

Leafs i'm sure need a 3rd rounder this year but is a guy like Holl worth that much? I think a 4th is the highest we get for him! and thank you very much for the welcome greetings

I'd love a guy like Comtois on the team but him being exempt from the expansion makes him unlikely to be traded ( though I'd see the Ducks letting Getzlaf go in the expansion to get rid of that contract?)

welcome and good luck in the sport field. i dont like or think Holl is any good. i think trading Holl helps rhe expansion draft. Holl has a no trade clause and we would be forced to keep him.

Nah, I think its a modifed no trade clause. Guess its the same, if he doesn't want to go to Seattle. If that's the case, leafs should trade him now.

then you would have to protect 8 players and a goalie. with him gone you do the 7 forwards 3 Dman and 1 goalie

It's only a No Movement Clause contract that you absolutely HAVE to protect. NTC's and modified NTC's don't have to be protected.
