Guentzel and a 1st?

Pretty much, but I think guentzel is more valuable to the pens than laIne would be. Crosby has this weird thing with linemates

The jets would want a big top pairing rd back. Marino fits the bill so he would be a starting point in a package for laine. If not then the jets hang up. No need to move him

I was going to put Marino but their left side isn't exactly flush either and dumolin may help them more now on the defensive side which I think they need help.

Guentzel and a 1st?

There is no way Laine gets that. It could be argued that Guentzel is more valuable then Laine is. There both 40 goal scorers. Don't say its because Guentzel plays with Crosby and Malkin. Laine plays with elite talent also and gets more 1 unit pp time by far. Guentzel can play center also. He is a lot better on the wing. Guentzel is better defensively also. that doesn't take into account that Guentzel is signed for 4 more years and Laine is a RFA with a large raise due. I am not saying Laine is a bad player and doesnt have tremendous value i just think he is overvalued. The Pens do not really have what the jets need in a Laine trade anyway. I personally would not do the trade he offered up top from either side Pens or jets.

While i agree with this. no way Pens can move him. The pens do not need a top six wing and do not have the pieces available the Jets would want. They are bad trade partners in regards to Laine.

Laine is 4 years younger and will very likely be a multi time 50 goal scorer He has more value than Guentzel. By the time he is 26 he should at least have 1 50+ goal season

Laine seems to be a bit of a malcontent when he doesn't get his own way. There is a huge difference between should have and did. He also is rumored to be asking for around 10 million a year contract wise. Laine is a great goal scorer and plays on a very good top line. He has very high value no doubt. I would not pay the price wanted to acquire him or pay what he is rumored to be asking for contract wise. Jets can keep him and i am sure they will be very happy to. I wouldn't trade Guetnzel for him.

Laine isn't a good player. Bad Possession stats, bad relative stats, teammates are worse when they play with Laine. not to mention he has a supposed bad attitude. I wouldn't trade Rust for Laine 1 for 1 salary caps aside. include the caps, and this is an atrocious trade. Laine has a sick shot, that's it.

As many said it would be Guentzel + but if not then something around Marino +++. But really there is no match here. don't think PIT and WPG are good trade partners.

So Scheifle and Little are on par with Malkin and Crosby? You cant say that Guentzel doesnt owe some of his play to those guys. I agree that Guentzel is a really good player and could still produce without Crosby or Malkin, but come on...those two have got a lot of wingers paid in the NHL

I think the big factor is guentzel has chemistry with those guts which is not guaranteed with every player.

we'll give Poulin and a 1st but only if you take Ceci, Matheson and Sceviour. Otherwise we aren't interested.

For sure...I agree 100%. it's difficult to find player to play with top talent, but lets not minimize what it like to play with elite talent and how that can inflate stats
Laine played with a combination of Little, Copp, SCheifle and even Lowry throughout his time. Outside of Scheifle, those other guys are not top 6 C's or anywhere close to the level of Sid and Geno

Ya I think laine would do well with Malkin but I think he wouldn't do well 5 on 5 with Sid.

I meant as a team. Obviously Malkin and Sid are better then Scheifle and Little. Wheeler, Connor, Ehlers, Morrissey, Trouba, and Byfuglien. Yes I know not all of them are still on team but he played with them.
That's a very talented group also. Ya Guentzel has great chemistry with Sid and Geno that in itself is a big plus in his favor. There is not a player in the nhl that doesn't benefit from better line mates. Laine best asset is his shot correct? Sid does not do well with that type of player. Geno is different he did well with Neal just finding a spot and shooting but he and kessel didn't mesh at all.

Don't get me wrong Liane is a great goal scoring winger. If you take everything in to account i would chose Guentzel.

I agree they are bad trade partners. The pens are better off keeping there assets and the jets can find a team that can meet there needs better
