cernak gets more, Johnson doesn't waive to go to New Jersey and Raddysh alone probably isn't a good enough sweetener

Not a steal for Florida when you’re asking them to absorb Coburn

Florida takes that in a heartbeat. Why would you do that? Come on there has to be other ways.

Tyler Johnson isn't waiving his full NTC for New Jersey, He'll want to go where he can play 2C and that's not New Jersey. But the time Zito pays Sergachev plus adds Coburn yeah don't see that happening. You don't even trade Tampa's most tradeable asset right which is Alex Killorn.

That Pacquette trade would have worked before Buffalo resigned Girgensons, resigned Thompson, signed Eakin and signed Reider.

No because they could trade Weegar elsewhere and just offer sheet Sergachev. No need to take on Coburn even if it’s only $1.7 million. Tampa is in no position to make demands or have high expectations on returns for players everyone knows they are trying to move.

Johnson would be RW for NJD, so if he wants to play center, I agree its not likely he'd waive to play 4th line or sit in press box.

And if they haven't moved him by now, its more than likely he stays in Tampa.

Oh my! Seriously you are scared of taking Coburn? Come on man, it’s Sergachev we are talking about. Not some prospect that nobody knows. Who cares if you are getting Coburn. This is WAY cheeper than offersheeting. High demands. That’s low demands, you could get way more off Sergachev.

No one is scared. The trade stated it’s a steal and it isn’t once you pay Sergachev plus you have to pay Coburn it quickly diminishes your cap plus helps Tampa. If Tampa would retain on Coburn then it looks better for Florida. All depends on how high Zito values Sergachev and if he thinks it’s worth 1 yr of Coburn. I personally wouldn’t mind it, I usually answer from the team’s view not my own.

It is a steal! Who cares about 1 year of Coburn. It’s only one year at a cheep price. Sergachev is very good, and I would do it in a heartbeat if I was Florida! Sergachev-Ekblad would just be too good to pass. You need good young help on the defence, well guess what. You found it, and should take advantage of one teams bad mistakes.

Cap space is essential ask all the teams trying to move players to get under the cap. It’s clear that Zito wants cap flexibility. Again personally I’d do it for the reasons you stated but I’m answering under the teams possible view (devil’s advocate)
