For the millionth time, Detroit is not trading Gagne after they JUST resigned him. It's just bad form and a great way for a GM to tarnish his reputation.

It's not about getting Guddy back. It's about getting rid of Loui and Rous and finding a willing trade partner. I thought about Anisimov but figured we need Dmen and muscle more than skilled forwards right now. Dumping two 2 year contract while putting up with Gudbranson for 1 year seems bearable to me. This team probably can't be a contender for 2-3 years anyway.

Roussel is actually good. And tbh I think could play up to a 3 million dollar contract. He happened to be coming back from major injury last season so look a bit off but his first season he looked great and is an perfect role player. Taking 4 mil back on a player we already know is absolutely terrible, plus giving up 3 picks is just silliness. Benning would be fired by mid season.

He might be anyway, LOL So we're put up with a "bad" $6M player for 2 years instead ?? Roussel is a role player that can be/ has been replaced by Motte or MacEwen. IMO Gudbranson would be an overpaid 6/7th Dman depending on how the rookies work out. Benning absolutely has to get rid of Eriksson AND one of Baertschi, Sutter or Roussel.
