I did a little bit of math. In Canada, you can get a 4 pack of Campbells soup for just shy of 7 dollars. With Mikheyev's new contract of $1645000 per year, he is able to purchase over 940 000 cans of soup. The soup man is officially souped out.... if it is his fuel, look out

I expected 1@1.450. The fact that we got an extra year for just a tiny bit more is near miraculous. This is a phenomenal contract.

Edit: Oh my god I'm gonna nut

Overall very good signing cause this guys is good at both ends of the ice and is an excellent penalty killer.

I personally don't like this signing. He looked horrible during the playoffs

Actually if you wait for a good deal, you can get it for $0.87 a can. Roughly with conversion from USD to CAD it’s well over 2 million cans of soup.

A bit higher than what I was expecting, but I'm really glad it's two years.

told you its the Dubas Christmas effect. Thad had to have played a factor in taking less money.

Not much to base this on... it could be good. Where's the "maybe" option?

And people thought he wasn’t getting more than 1.5. Great deal for a guy on a 40 point pace

Wow. Really good contract.

It's unfortunate it walks him straight to UFA but still really good.

He also turned down a $4,500,000 x 6 year offer from Lou Lamoriello.

That can happen when they tell you not to move your wrist for 6 months and then you get two weeks to practice.

I say Vesey steps up and grabs the 2nd LW spot and moves Mikheyev down to 3rd.

Wow, as a Canadiens fan I'm jealous.
This is great. This contract can be one of the biggest steals in the NHL.
On a team full of overpaid stars, this is nice.

It doesnt matter how the contract is paid out, his AVERAGE for the 2 years is what matters, his caphit doesnt change in year #2.
While not overpaid by any means...the Leafs are still in cap hell.
If my last name was Kerfoot....i wouldnt be buying real estate anytime soon.
