Yes. Tuukka isn't going anywhere. I laugh so hard when Avs fans think you're actually getting Tuukka.

Wouldn't that be hilarious?!?!?!? Side note - I'm not sure how he makes a return to the game during covid after the bail he pulled because of "covid reasons" when the bubble was flawless

As a Preds fan, I'd rather have Jarnkrok. But since it's Joe Sakic I'm trading with, somehow I'm suddenly adding a 2nd and retaining salary on Jarnkrok. How does he do it?

And flawless? Did you even follow hockey then? Lots of players said they hated staying in the bubble

Where did he say that? I heard him say he hopes he is the one that passes the torch and he wants to be in Boston.

Rask said he would retire if traded.

While the 33-year-old Rask didn’t come out and say he’d simply retire if traded — a declaration that would effectively squash any deal — it certainly sounds like any team that might acquire him would not be getting the happiest of campers.

“I don’t see any reason for that,” said Rask, who does not have full trade protection. “I’ve been here for a long time and the organization’s been so great for me. We’ve built our home in Boston and we call this home. So, yeah, I don’t want to play for anybody else. I think where my head’s at is focusing on next year and then hopefully a couple of more years after that and then pass the torch for the next guy after that. I want to help the organization as much as I can.”

As far as a possible extension with the Bruins goes, Rask said that discussion hasn’t happened yet.

“They have so much on their plate right now with the draft and everything, we’re just trying to get the next season going and get back to somewhat normal and then we can talk extension later. I still have one more year left. There’s no rush. But like I said, I don’t want to go anywhere else. I want to finish my career here,” said Rask.

Can you name one player ever who didn't want to get traded that said, Yeah I would love to play in a different market?

obviously he wants to stay here, but A) 7m is a lot to walk away from B) He has another 2-4 year deal in him, so another 20M.

He could go play in the EU.

I tend to give European players more credit for that. With the exception of Russia, there’s pretty clearly a higher quality of life in the EU, and they can get a solid paycheck there.

That's certainly good but mental health is also important.

What? Dude, his daughter had a medical emergency. Give it a google. If he stayed I would think he’s a monster.

Do you think we don’t know this? Are you talking trash about a cup win from 20 years ago? Yikes.

I don't just buy that narrative that a guy would retire if traded. It rarely, if ever- happens.

On top of that, if that is what the Bruins wanted, they would have traded him for a 7th rd pick. Let him retire and clear the space.

I think they are open to trading him, but not actively trying. Or, should I say they are not going to give him away, they would rather just let him walk at the end of the year because Rask is better than Halak.

Maybe I am wrong, but he could still earn about 20m pretty easily. That is tough to walk away from.
