Not a bad roster by any means. But not a contender. I think the Wild should go all in or all out. Don't understand why they want this wishy-washy stuff.

You have Khusnutdinov and Beckman slated into the second line and Boldy isn't even on the roster?

Other than the Leaf fans chirping like their team hasn't been an abysmal failure for years, the most interesting thing about this one is if Parise and Suter will actually play in 22-23 when their actual salaries drops to $2m. Personally, I'd be really surprised if they're both still playing then.

You're a minority then, because most Leaf fans seem to think drafting studs in the top 10 and giving them big money contracts while *checks notes* squeaking into the playoffs and losing in round 1 is a model way to run a franchise.

Not really, the majority of leafs fans are disappointed in the results of the past couple years.

I mean, Marner is a 90 point player and a top 10 playmaker in the league, Matthews is the best 5v5 goalscoring centre in the entire NHL, Nylander is a great 70-75 point winger

The guys are young (22-23), the playoff success will come lol. Not sure how the leafs were supposed to low ball them, they earned that money with their play on the ice, playoff success or not

Their entire tenure there, the team has had one dimensional depth, **** defence and inconsistent goaltending, esp in the backup position.

Not exactly the core's fault, and all issues mostly fixed this off season. So hopefully they can get a little further this year smile

This will be the smallest team in the league. 8 of the top-9 FWDs and 2 of the top-4 d-men are under 6'. 4 of those 10 might be 5'9" with their skates on. I know MN loves their high school hockey and all, but this is small for even a high school team.

I don't disagree that the team has significant strengths, but also severe flaws. My problem is the insipid fans that follows it acting like the team has achieved anything. You said they addressed their issues this offseason, but go back and read through the comments on the Barrie/Kerfoot trade to get an indicator of how obnoxious the fanbase on here was last summer when they thought all their problems were solved. They clearly made moves this year and on paper are better, but seriously, until they're past a couple rounds of the playoffs, Leaf fans have no grounds to chirp anyone about anything unless it's jersey sales.

Marat is the best of the 3 players. Simple as that.

Marat is the least likely of the three to even make the NHL, and by a lot too

I have watched him play. I've also watched the other two. That's exactly why I'm more qualified than you to speak on this.
