That's not the right package to get Kane and we aren't retaining that much on Calvin De Haan for 2 years, maybe $1M. Mittlestadt is not that exciting (I don't see much more then a 3rd liner), Johnson will be hit or miss...could be a 2nd liner but also could be an AHL player. Have to move the needle with a top prospect, neither Mittlestadt or Johnsson does that.

The Hawks wouldn’t even consider taking back Okposo
Trading PK88 would be an effort to get $$$ OFF their books,
not make a toughly even swap

If they were ok with that,
then why wouldn’t they just keep Kane?
The package u have us offering doesn’t move the needle for them imo

I’d love to see it happen,
but i think u need to seriously revamp their deal for Chicago
to even consider sending Kane here

The problem is Kane is overpaid in a year where cap hit is huge. Just saw Schmidt go for a third. When’s he is top pairing dman because of cap hit. Kane is on downslid of his career and will only get worst. Reinhart will be better then Kane before contract is up. You get a first and two top prospects. Which would be vast overpayment for 31 year old Kane. So u need to eat salary which won’t be problem for next three years because u will be rebuilding.

Kane has 3 years left and is still top 5 winger in the league; no he's not overpaid. He just came off a season of 98 points prorated to 82 game regular season and 110 points the season prior...he's not showing much of any slowdown. You want to talk about players that are overpaid see Marner but not Kane. Kane would require a 1st and 2 top prospects which Mittlestadt is not a top prospect. It would take Cozens, Reinhardt a 2022 1st and possibly Johnsson as well to get Kane.

None of this matters anyway, Kane is not waiving buddy and highly unlikely he would go back to Buffalo anyway unless they are legit cup contenders and they aren't yet.

Schmidt was had for a drastic discount bc Vegas desperately needed Cap Space to fit Pietrangelo

That’s just not true with Chicago
They aren’t in any kind of a Cap crunch
So there’s ZERO reason they’d sell Kane off cheap

And just bc they could fit Okposo,
it doesn’t mean that they wanna PAY HIS SALARY
Especially while they’re “rebuilding”
We’re talking millions & millions of dollars here
