Like he said before, he was a point per game in the Liiga last year. He absolutely deserves a spot on the roster imo

It’s a 7GAME SAMPLE SIZE this year that he’s talking about
And it’s in a vastly inferior league

Even a good year last season is not enough to “have earned” ANYTHING in the NHL

If this guy WINS A ROSTER SPOT IN CAMP, then cool
But he sure as **** shouldn’t be handed anything right NOW
Haven’t we made that mistake enough times with young players to have learned from that stupid mistake???

We don’t even know if he’s coming over this year or not

He was a point per game player last year in LIIGA.... Not like bums like Mittelstadt, Rieder, etc. He's a better option.

Listen Rangers fan....
As hard as it is for u to realize this,
YOU are NOT the GM or coach here

He could score 30+ goals in Finland, and that wouldn’t “EARN” him ANYTHING in the NHL except more of a look in training camp

Handing him a roster spot now is DUMB
We’ll see how he looks in camp...
And that’s IF he’s even over here for camp

Go back to talking about your Manhattan team

Great conversation going on here.
The best part of this it is among some of the CF AGM who know something about hockey.
This is all histrionics about who will be a third line LW.
God bless us all that the Sabres finally can have that discussion, how many years have we been looking for a good SECOND line LW, at least 9, NINE.
For first time in forever we actually have THREE players who could actually produce 30 goals as the #1 LW.
Let's get together and be thankful.
Let's throw another player in the mix, Kahun could easily fit into the 3rd line LW as well. OMG 5 solid NHL LW candidates.
What is this world coming to, can we expect an apocalypse in 2021?
@Jdfitz77

@JokiStan
@sabres89

I am sure you all know how little trust I have in Krueger, but let's set that aside.
First, Cozens is going to be better than Reinhart (please compare the OHL stats the year AFTER the draft), so I am going to pencil him as my #1 RW.
Second, as a teenager Mittelstadt put up 25 pts with third line players, so I am going to pencil him as my #3 Center.
Eichel could get a chair to score 20 goals. I love Olofsson and his quick release so let's put him at LW with Jack and look for 30 goals.
Let's reunite Skinner and Staal while giving that line a good backchecking, passing RW, Sam.
Hall is more of a play maker than scorer. For example 61.3% of his pts are assists, in contrast Jack who is known playmaker only 59.3% of his points are assists.
Olofsson Eichel Cozens
Skinner Staal Reinhart
Hall Mittelstadt Okposo
Girgensons Eakin Thompson
All forward are playing on the side of their strong hand.
I know everyone will rip me for this, but this gives Buffalo 3 lines.
OMG when did we last have 2, is hell about to freeze over, or can I expect to see pigs flying soon.
I am sure you all know that only Jack, Sam and Victor had more pts/60 min than Okposo last year.
I guess that was because he was lined up with the most feared NHL scoring machines called the LOGers.
I also like him on the third line because I really do not want to put a $10,450,000 fourth line on the ice.
Hall will make that line work.

Well that is my nickel's worth into this conversation.

Let's all be happy that we have a problem with who will be the next 3rd line LW, so many options.
BTW I am not against Ruotsalainen, I pointed out that the year Kaapo Kakko was taken 2nd overall Ruotsalainen had only one less goal than Kaapo that year.
What a brilliant signing.
Now be nice to me, I am 4 months away from my 72 birthday, just give me likes and make me happy tears of joy

Have a great bday! (in 4 months)

Ok that's your opinion. I don't know why you'd prefer Rieder or less effective options. I also agree with you just feel that's the best way to go about it. Isn't this site giving us fans the power to do what we see fit?

Also, appreciate the Rangers jab. Could be a worse team tbh ;(

Does he deserve a real shot at a lineup spot?
Ok, I’m with ya

I also NEVER SAID i wanted Reider (or anyone else) in the lineup over him.... DID I ???
Go ahead & quote EXACTLY where i said anything like that?

All i basically said was that doing well in Finland does NOT
“EARN” him a lineup slot here
He’s gotta (at least) play well in camp to do that

No I get it but with the cap situation it's fair to assume the only options to fill out the roster are internal wouldn't you agree?

Not necessarily
We’ve gotta see what happens with arbitration & the Reinhart, Ullmark & Olofsson contracts
They could sign bridge deals giving us some Cap room

And we could trade Montour or another defenseman still to free up room too

A potential LW3 won’t necessarily cost much

But again....
MY POINT is that u can’t just hand a spot to Ruotsalainen bc he’s playing well in Finland
He’s gonna have to have a good camp to “win that spot” over guys that have been playing over here for years

Handing out spots without guys earning it is a mistake we’ve been making for about 10years now
Definitely shouldn’t continue that

Agreed. Still feel he'd be better than Rieder or the others to fill internally speaking.
