The Leafs 100% should say yes, not sure if Dubas would.

I'm not a WPG or TOR fan, but I'm thinking TOR gets the best of this deal on both counts (Roslovic is better than Engvall, who TOR probably cant afford to even dress in the NHL, and Niku is slightly better than Dermott) and theres not much moneywise to separate one package from the other (Dermott has no RFA rights, and will probably get less than half of that 2.75).

Value wise maybe the Leafs say yes, but what's Roslovic contract look like? Don't think the Leafs have room for him and TBH Dermott as a defense man would have more value than a middle F in Roslovic or so I've been told over and over and over

The Jets say no and its not even close?? Can we stop acting like Engvall is some kind of highly regarded assett? Roslovic has to have the highest value here, and then it's between Niku and Dermott

No. But roslovic>Dermott (as far as current player, potential tough to say) and Niku>Engvall (as far as potential)

If Dermott can be a top 4 defensemen Id say the value wouldnt be too far off

The jets would value a top 4 D more than Roslovic at this point who wouldnt see top 6 minutes for at least another 2 years

Leafs say no. Dermott is better than Niku and it really isn’t close. Roslovic just isn’t needed in Toronto. We have plenty of centre and winger depth.

Yes, and Roslovic is almost 10 years too young to play in TOR's bottom 6.

Dermott is not a top 4 defenseman, likely not to ever be one, and theres a reason that more than half of Leaf fans see him (their youngest and cheapest dman) as tradeable. Niku still has the unknown factor in his favour, while Dermott, who I like, is a nice and steady, but unremarkable 3rd pairing guy.

Maybe TOR doesn't need Roslovic but he has more potential and is younger, cheaper with a lot more upside than 3 other guys I see manning the bottom 6 in Toronto lineups on here.

I completely disagree with you about Dermott. So does dubas. Let’s not get down to the same level as “every leafs fan” I think we are better than that.

Underlying numbers, regular numbers and eye test all have Dermott above Niku and on his way to being a good top 4 Dman. Leafs have been patient to the point of holding him back. Not going to put that on him.

Like it or not doesn’t matter. Seems that dubas and I both agree about Dermott.
