How is that an overpay?
Pilut signed a multi-year deal in the KHL. His NHL days are most likely behind him. No value.
Tage Thompson - of 21 career pts, plays bottom six minutes for a bad Buffalo team and is coming off of a season ending shoulder injury. Every team has a guy that can produce comparable numbers with equal or less question marks. No value.
Ghost is penciled in to the top four in this scenario for two never-was players and 30 spots in the draft. We’ll keep him instead.

I haven't seen him play enough to play but from what I've read Ghost fell off a cliff this year. I see a lot of Philly AGMs on here with him as the scratched 7th defenseman, and he's making $4.5M for three more seasons.

He's apparently not worth the money he's being paid. That's why it's an overpay.
