Columbus is better than the Rangers! Is this actually a thing, or are you making this stuff up?

Rangers finished with 2 less points than cbj last year, rangers are getting laf and kakko along with the other young guys are gonna progress, nowhere close to outlandish as you think it is lmao

This is why it will suck for the sharks. Instead of getting to battle it with the fringe playoff teams in canada, we get the legit contenders of the blues, stars and avs.

That seems like semantics since none of those teams are going to make it

Two words: Kirill. Kaprizov.

While they downgraded Staal, they upgraded their goaltending and the have Kaprisov. Depending on how the divisions shake out, I could see them sneaking into the 2nd wildcard spot.

So a rookie drafted 5 years ago and cam Talbots is going to make them better than last year, they aren’t making it

Dubnyk was garbage last year. Almost any goalie in the NHL would be better than him from last season.

Why say that he was drafted 5 years ago? That’s just supporting that he’ll have a bigger impact, because he already has more hockey under his belt. And even average goaltending is a big upgrade for the Wild from last year.

think it was an outlier year, but maybe he is really declining. but talbot is only a year younger and had some off years in edmonton and philadelphia. don't think it'd write them into a wild card spot just yet.

I’m not saying about whether they would’ve been better off keeping Dubnyk, I’m just saying that just in the context of this season, their goaltending will be better than the previous year. Also, I wasn’t writing them into a wildcard spot, I don’t think it’s likely, but I think it’s a possibility.

It’s hard to see Columbus missing after making it last year and improving the team. We could easily see a team like Pittsburgh miss if Jarry struggles same with Washington and Samsonov. Another team that will be worse is STL, Bimmington will need a huge bouceback season and lose km/h Pietranglo is going to hurt, yes that added Krug, but STL has gone backwards this offseason imo. Another team who could be in a massive hole to start the season is Boston, Pasta and Marchand out to start the year and McAvoy being questionable after losing Krug. That’s a big hole to climb out of if it’s a shortened season. Also Tampa will take a step back and will have to heavily rely on top players even more then they had.

Columbus got Domi, Koivu, and Grigorenko, what’s you point? Columbus is way better! Part of New York’s problem was their defence, which they didn't fix at all.

way better is such an ignorant answer lol, cbj had a scoring problem and domi isnt the fix to that problem, koivu is a 3rd line role and gridorenko hasnt played in NHL in years, its not even like i had them way ahead either so settle, i have the rangers getting in the last spot with cbj, fox will progress thats what young players tend to do is get better, goalies will progress, they were 2 points apart lol and got the first overall pick who will make them better this year too, cbj also has young players who will progress but i have the rangers slightly ahead,
