Salvaging the off season

Description
*Doesn't have to be New Jersey*

Apparently Vancouver has offered a 1st round pick to dump Erikssons full contract. But its still proving difficult. So in this scenario Vancouver is retaining $1.5M of 25% of the remaining caphit. This would mean the team that takes him would have either $4.5M cap hit this year and next but in actual money would be much cheaper due to Vancouver already paying this years Bonus. If whoever Vancouver trades him to plays him this year and buys L.E out next year it will be $3M year 1 and 750k the 2nd year. While Vancouver would be on the hook for $1M and 250k. This seems pretty fair imo

Sutter will be bought out only if Virtanen is awarded arbitration and Vancouver has a second buyout window open.

Bonus would be if Baertschi does not want to play another year in the AHL that him and the Canucks agree to a mutual termination of the contract that would alleviate the remaining $2,291,666 in cap space that would make almost all of Vancouver's potential bonuses covered.

Can buyout anything $4M or over then as I understand it, as long as he files the buyout window is opened for 48 hours.

What this guy said. The clock starts ticking when he signs a contract or arbitration is awarded.

Plus.

Will Canuck fans stop trying to sign Hoffman.

HE IS NOT SIGNING HERE. WHY WOULD HE? Why would the Canucks pay him?

For the Canucks 1 year low risk stop gap until Podkolzin comes next year. And for Hoffman gets to play with a good young team with Horvat or Petey as his C and get PP time. Gets to further establish himself for a potential bigger contract next offseason. What’s not the like for both parties?

But he doesn’t get PP time with those young stars cause he only plays the right half way (petterson a spot) Hoffman doesn’t play any other spot on the PP. PP2 won’t afford him the time to get points.

Speaking of points, half of his are always PP. which is always PP1 for him. PP2, his points go down, which means it’s an overpayment on the Canucks half and the reason why would not sign with the Canucks.
