1. I don’t think the Canucks will struggle to put butts in seats
2. OV on the right side with Miller and Pettersson is a better first line. Or Podkolzin on the right of EP and OV with Boeser on your 2nd line as you have it constructed.
3. Jake won’t be on the Canucks. There is no way Jake makes it to the 21/22 season, he’ll be traded by the 2021 deadline if he’s not traded later this summer after he resigns. Podkolzin is probably a better fit in the 1st/2nd line anyway.
4. Even with 1 year left, I don’t think Woo and a 3rd gets Loui off the books unless you are retaining 50%. I don’t think Woo is going to blow anyone’s socks off, so you will need to give up more. However, Woo and a 3rd would probably get Seattle to take Myers and the rest of his ugly contract.
5. You can trade a 50% retained Roussel for more cap relief than burying him.
6. You could potentially buyout Loui’s last year for $2mil in cap space, and keep those assists for something else. Couple that with #5 and you save as much as
7. That d-core is really weak after Hughes and Schmidt. It’s a 1&2, and then a bunch of 5s, 6s and 7s even with Myers.
8. Holtby under Ian Clark >>>>>>> Halak and will likely have some really good trade value after the expansion draft if he can regain his form from 2017.
9. This should probably be #1. But there is no way the canucks sign Hughes to a 6.5x2 bridge deal. He’s well above a Chabot, so maybe 8x2, but why when you can probably get him locked up at 9.5x8?
