I think it's closer than you think. A second first gives Blues some flexibility. They would at least entertain it (and yes I know they dont need to trade Dunn for Cap space).

It'll be a low, low 1st and (I cannot stress this enough) we are not trading winning now for futures. These return pieces are all futures, and are all kinda meh when compared to Dunn (who I must remind, is still very young himself).

Final analysis: Not a chance in hell.

If the Blues are trading for futures it wouldn't be these ones, I agree. But that wasn't the point I was making. I'm saying IF they were to be offered a first at all they might take a deal especially considering the current market. (Toews at 2 second rounders).

On straight value, Dunn is worth more than a low first and some riff raff. In context of the Blues window, he's worth evem more than that.

And again, he himself is a young guy!

With the current market he's only worth about a low first and a mid tier prospect. We may not like it, but that's what the flat cap does. Blues wouldn't do it right now, but it's tempting for a first. That's why.

A 3rd round pick is a valuable asset...

Not enough for 3 years at 2.750m ... nice guy, but a 7D can't earn that kind of coin in this environment

Dude, I'm one of the people on here who thinks Moore is a cap dump, but he does not cost more than a 3rd. That's ridiculous and unreasonable. He isn't even 3M. JJ is better than JM IMO and there were no takers for him with compensation.

Eh? The flat cap has no effect on trade value for a cheap player. Not even sure how you came to this notion.
