Great deal for the team. 3 years is what you want term wise, and 3.6 won't make you role your eyes when he's playing more of a 3rd line role behind Batherson and Dadonov, compared to 1st line minutes

Terrific signing of a very good player who produces and Is only going to get better. Very solid moves by Ottawa and look for them to be hot in 2021.

eh, he's about to be 27 in january. Statistically, he's at his peek age and he's been in the league for 4 years. So I'm not sure about that better part.

Honestly, I don't like the deal. 3.5 is top end on what you can expect to pay a 20 goal guy. He hasn't seen 20 goals in 4 years.
I think this is high. Maybe because OTT. However, it's still high.

He's a guy I've rooted for from day one and hated to see (but understood) when the Leafs traded for him.

He was drafted as the leading scorer on a TERRIBLE junior team with like a -34 plus minus. A couple years later he wins the OHL player of the year. Enters the minors and gets rookie of the year. Makes the leafs surrounded by players with so much more hype, and frankly without any game breaking skills, just being okay at a lot of things and a great determination to contstantly improve. So easy to cheer for. You don't have to be a big hitter to have big heart.

Miss the guy, glad he's getting paid, thought he'd get more.

I think for 16 goals with a new team I think Connor has showed that he is capable of getting back to 20G. He also showed that he is not a bad passer for top 6.

yeah but is he going to get those minutes. Dadonov, Tkachuk, Stutzle will probably start on the wing although he should be a center, They got a lot of young talent for those wings.
I don't see him staying there over the course of 3 years. He'll probably drop down to 3rd line is my guess. If not be there already just due to the numbers game.

Good signing, but I don’t get all the love some people are giving the Sens for their so-called “great offseason”....

Apart from the draft (where everyone knew they would have good picks), where is this improved roster? That Defense looks terrible apart from Chabot, and Dadonov doesn’t push the needle upfront on his own.... and they overpaid Murray....

I don’t see it

They must have expected to pay more in arbitration because I agree hes a nice player but if he was a ufa he wouldnt get this deal.

He got almost 1.1 million more than Virtanen....frankly i dont see it. Hes a decent 3rd liner- but 2nd line is a stretch, but if any of the young players falter, I guess he can slide up the roster. Virtanen has much more upside, but he takes bad penalties, needs to mature.

Sens did some strange moves, I dont think they managed all that cap space well, buying out Ryan? not taking on similar contracts and getting other prospects/drafts as well? Why the hell would you give up anything for Gudbrandson (who seems to be on a 'guess what team Im going to disappoint next' contract tour), while taking on the full salary? $4mil per can get you a decent dman. Hamonic is still out there, and he is miles better than Gudbrandson. Hell i would rather go with Bowey or Koekkoek than him. They cost less and have much more upside ( i thought Koekkoek played well in the playoffs for the Hawks, surprised they didnt bring him back).
