Honestly, I think the Sens should sign him to a 1-year arbitration deal and then trade him to a team at the deadline... There are too many Centre prospects in the pipeline to keep him around...

Like the idea of Sens signing their core players to reasonable contract instead of recklessly spending on high priced UFA despite the fact they do have short term cap space.

Insulation. He's a good 'veteran' to have in the room. That, and we need to expose people to the Seattle expansion draft. A 2 year deal won't hurt because his value is still high at the deadline.
