I don't see PHI trading Patrick or any team trading for Patrick until he sorts out his migraine issues and starts playing again.

Risk move for sure but there is potential if he somehow stays healthy.

Really underwhelming for Laine, no thanks.

IT allows them to sign another top 6 forward though with Cap space. Hoffman even could bean option.
I think they become a better team then.

Hoffman won't sign in Winnipeg and Laine is a much better player then Hoffman, Sanheim is okay but you don't trade a Laine type talent for a second pair dman, an injury prone question mark and a measly 2nd round pick.

Even with the cap dump strategy and go get a ufa Hoffman/duclair, would still want better assets for laine, even if they need time in junior, or ahl. Would like to gamble on sanheim/Patrick, but a minimal start to laine. 1st and or frost would be interesting

I'm pretty much dead set against trading Laine but if they could get a young RHD like Dobson then I could live with it, highly doubt the Islanders would make that trade but that's the kind of deal that makes sense at least imo.

I hear ya there, I would get over a package that Kane brought back, possibly with a lesser dman going with laine somewhere. Tough to swallow just potential, but kind of the moral of the story for the jets. High end picks or prospects with a couple stopgap/potential pieces I could get over also. Always tough to get top 5 talent With out top 5 picks, so yes I do agree, and better be a chance at a healthy win blockbuster if they do pull the trigger on laine deal.

Patrick can't be a main piece in any Laine trade. The risk is too great and the reward... we don't know what that could look like. Would take Patrick as part of the trade but only as a bit piece.

Also adding a Dman becomes problematic for the expansion draft for us. Protecting Sanhiem means we lose Pionk so we're plugging one hole (where we have high end prospects on the way) at the expense of creating another hole (where we don't have high end prospects on the way). We want a one year stop gap top 4 LHD. We don't really need a LD with term unless our plan is to play Sanhiem on the right side, which i suppose we could do.

Sanhiem, konencny + Patrick for Laine + Roslovic? We're not taking a 2nd round pick in a trade for Laine. 1st round picks, roster players or blue chip prospects only.

Also, you haven't signed/traded Roslovic, Harkins or Niku

I really agree with the points you make on the expansion draft. As much as opposing fans don't want to hear it, I highly doubt Laine is traded before next summer, barring an insane offer.

There is a far greater probability Laine is moved next summer, if he is moved at all, before the entry draft. When all the teams have a better handle on where they are.

PHilly would not give up that much for Lanie. Konency is very good himself and not that far behind Lanie. I agree might be summer before a move is done.
