He's younger and less experienced than Virtanen so even though they signed at the same day for the same number, they're not exactly comparable players. I can't justify saying "better than Virtanen" as Gurianov is a potential perennial top 6 while Jake is a good career 3rd liner.
He scored 20 goals during this season. I mean he played really well in the playoffs and I'm sure he'll improve and become a true 2nd liner but he's not a superstar. I'm not sure if he'll be able to score 30 goals pretty linear type of player.

The reason why he got the same offer as Virtanen is that Gurianov more than helped the stars go to the finals and did really good for a rookie coming with 3/4 of the season left to go
