Edler has one year left and we have no need of his cap space. We will just use him this season. No reason to pay a 2nd to open up useless space.

PS: He's also good and we're happy to have him.

Yea agreed, but getting rid of ericksen for a 2nd is good. Maybe even trade myers with a 2nd to a team that he will waive his clause

Nobody would take Eriksson for only a second. Even a year from now it will probably be a first.

Myers depends on the teams he would go to, which we can't really evaluate what price works for teams we are not even sure of.

Yea myers is the worst contract on the team. Canucks capspace isnt as bad as it seems. Alot of money clearing up at the end of the 2021 season and 2022 season. Brandon sutter, Baertschi, benn and edler up after 1 year. Edler will probably sign for a team friendly contract. The year after that ericksen, beagle and rousell are up thats another 12 mill freed up

Which is why Van doesn't need to do anything right now.

Certainly nothing like this deal.

Big step doesn't mean passing guys like Malkin, Backstrom, Stamkos, Hedman, Josi, etc

Those guys are 6-15 in the nhl type guys. Bo is great but a BIG step forward would be becoming a top 50 player.
