Devils are doing a solid job reconstructing their D after the departures of Greene and Vatanen. But they still need a puck-mover/offensive D to step up. They're probably not gonna find one via trade, so they need Ty Smith to take a big step this season.

He's pretty mediocre offensively 5on5 and his defense is terrible. But, I do like him on the PP. He should rebound from last season.

Kulikov finally returned to old form; for those who don't remember, he suffered a freak back injury in 2016, and it hindered him in BUF and his first two years in WPG. Now that he's finally healthy, he'll fit comfortably on the bottom pair and can even play on the second pair in a pinch.

He actually played very good last year. The reason why he was "disliked" as a player on the Jets was his contract of 4.33...he is a solid defensive Dman that can play 18-20 mins a night

Yeah. WPG took a risk by giving him that contract after that horrific back injury; it didn't pay off, but it was worth a shot.
