But..Boston could have had Johnson for nothing when TJ was waived...why are they now giving up an asset to get him?

Bruins left side would be flamed. Why get Johnson? I don't even see where they can fit Studnicka. They need LHD.

Sergacirelli woukd likely only take that type of money for a 1 year bridge though, they might actually plead for a team to offer sheet them otherwise, just so low

"I don’t see why Johnson rejects Boston". Boston and all NHL teams reject Johnson. A declining 30 year old with 5m X 4 contract.

I was thinking of it purely from a NTC standpoint but I get it.

Get real no team is giving up assets for Tyler (Freaking) Johnson when they could've had him for free when he was on waivers. And neither Cirelli or Sergachev are signing that cheaply on 3 and 4 years respectively just look at the Evolving Hockey signings for both and far more money both take that for one year not three and four years.

I just dont think Johnson is gonna bring back any value... if every team passed on him for free, theyre gonna want more value in a deal. I dont necessarily feel like he fits in the bruins plans, but i can see a team like NJD, DET, etc. taking on the money, and recouping a pick in the process.

Does evolving hockey take into account that they will have to and want to take a discount to stay with the cup champs?

Brisebois will definitely have to get creative to move money out to afford to get both signed, Not sure how he's going to do it without potentially losing one of them.

Well there’s the fact that he’s going to a worse team that is aging more, plus he makes a lot less money because of taxes.

Killorn would be a solid addition for the Avs they just can’t fit him w/o moving someone else who makes similar money.
