Sergachev For Feete

Created by: CoopsTroops
Team: 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 23, 2020
Published: Oct. 23, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Saw someone on Twitter talk about hypothetically trading Sergachev to make ends meet after assuming Johnson is not traded. I'm going with trade him, but have to eat some salary to make it work.

Its a steep price, but think NJD should do it. They need the d-man.

Yeah if both Killorn and Johnson go bye bye, Then Sergachev isn't going anywhere it's just that simple.

I guess if you have (2) Footes (albeit one on LTIR), you do actually have Feete

Only on LTIR to show he is on team. Nolan would spend year in AHL.

That's not a hockey trade, it's a Foote Bahl trade!

It's steep, but the return is steep for NJ as well. Swap Sergachev, who has already proven to be an NHL defenseman who can score and play in any game situation, for Bahl, who is big (literally) and promising but has not played professional hockey yet. Then the excess value of Sergachev over Bahl is made up with the addition of Foote to the trade.

Bahl could be every bit as good as Sergachev (maybe less offensive, better def). They had a lot of options when they dealt Taylor Hall...Bahl was the guy they wanted.

I think NJD should consider, but I doubt they would do it. I could more easily see them dealing Ty Smith and keeping Bahl/Foote.

This won't happen anyway since I would and GMJBB would (I think) trade Cirelli over Sergachev if worst comes to worst, but I like my defensemen big. Generally speaking, the Lightning under Yzerman and BriseBois have liked them big as well. Mainly, I want Foote back.
