Ironically, this would probably shorten the Avs window and make them less of a Dynasty smile

Girard in the deal for an aging Crosby really sours me with his bright future/solid contract, but the kicker is he's putting up preposterously good PenDiff +/- so far

He's at 8 minors taken and 41 drawn for his career it's insane. Most D are lucky to get above even lol he's ~ 4x that. Probably only going to improve at it too.

With Rust a UFA / Sam at 5M for much of a decade...

I think we should embrace the concept of modern dynasty given parity, cap etc. Colorado or TB could definitely do 3 cups in 5 years here. Exciting times 🌄

No, for Crosby it would atleast be C.Maker or B.Bowen and Mikko and two 1st round picks(which would end up being late 1st rounders, aka Shane Bowers). Crosby is still a 100 point a season player. A top 5 player in the NHL still. Probably top 3 still. And Crosby can carry his own line. Like a superstar can. He’s been doing for years with average wingers at best. And 8.7M is a good salary for a superstar. And his whole signing bonus is paid. Cake Maker is already making 9M/yr. So Bowen and Rantanen would make more sense.

And the Pens would have to be completely blowing it up and taking back only young NHL ready top prospects and high draft picks.

And Crosby would never want out. Cause what he means to the city. You have no clue what Crosby is like in Pittsburgh.

And Rust scored a point per game last year; had 27 goals and 56 points in 55 games played. You could add Alex Newhook and another 1st round pick for him. Which again would be a late round pick.

In modern terms 3 in a row would be a dynasty. The old dynasties are gone in a salary cap era. That said, I don't think it's a smart move and I'd agree it would shorten the window.

Sorry but you're overvaluing two players who are only going to decline from here. Especially thinking Rust would get you two firsts. Crosby wouldn't get you 5 firsts either.

If Rust was traded now he’d get a top prospect and a late 1st round pick.from a play-off team.

And for sure Crosby, right now, still a top 3-5 player in the NHL. Still a 100 point scorer. would definitely get atleast 2 1st round picks, especially if they were later 1st round picks. And he would get your top young player, playing in the NHL, and your top prospect in your system. Maybe another Young NHL player on the team.

Doesnt matter Which team, and who they are. They are all the same on every team. And still none of them, on all the other 31 teams, are Crosby or are gonna be him and produce and carry line like him(and Crosby still has atleast 2-3 more years of that on at reasonable 8.7M/yr. He’s showed no signs of slowing down yet, he’s like Lebron, takes great care of his body). Crosby immediately becomes the best player, best passers/play maker, and best scorer on your team. Ahead of MacKinnon

Sure 100 points in 18-19 and on track for 100 points last year(in 19-20) if they played 82. And still better than MacKinnon at 33 years old..lol. (Just turned 33).

And I had Crosby getting C.Maker OR B.Bowen and M.Rantanen. And two late 1st round picks from a play-off team. So that would be four 1st in your mind, not 5, so u can’t read or add too. Along with player evaluate

I don't think they would win 3 in a row.
I mean you are going back to the 80s for that to have happened.
I'm not sold it's possible in the salary cap era.
Just the grind of two back to back playoffs alone is problematic.

I think it's a talented team though. But Crosby probably is a pen for life. Unless they Chicago full rebuild, I don't think he gets moved.

Yes, they likely miss one of those years. But this team is better than prime Pens, Prime hawks, Prime LA. They could potentially do it. But no, I can`t see it happening either unless Sid talks to Mario and requests it happens. If the Pens bomb out again this year and continue their downward spiral then I could maybe see it. Either Sid asks to leave or Malkin/Letang are traded. Sid will always be a Penguin. He saved the franchise. He would never do it because he is so selfless but the best thing for his legacy and career would be a trade to a team like this. As a huge Crosby fan I hope it happens. He has done enough for Pittsburgh but they are out of soap now. Give Sid what he deserves.

Sid is still the best player on earth and I don`t think it`s close.

This trade would only happen if Sid requests it. And because of his age this is the best you would get I think. Which is fine. Sid deserves this. Mario/Pittsburgh would give it to him if that is what he wants. Unfortunately I think his loyalty is going to tie him to a dumpster fire in Pitt the next 5 years.

Yep, well Crosby would bring back a top prospect, a young NHL all-star caliber player, and two late 1st round picks(they would be later 1st round picks b/c Crosby would obviously be going to a contender).

100% that would be the cost of a top 3-5 player in the NHL. From any team. Every team has those players and those assets. And none of them are or gonna be Sidney Crosby.

The Pens wouldn’t do it or I wouldn’t want those 4 for Crosby anyways. But that’s the value for a top 3 player in the NHL.(only making 8M/yr).

Yes, I agree with you. I mean even the trade you proposed. S.Girard, M.Rantanen, and a 1st is kind of close...lol. It would defiantly be two 1st though.(again, they are two late 1st) and I think the Pens would ask for Bowen or Makar instead of Girard. And if they Avs are gonna give up Girard then they would give up Bowen. Especially since Girard would fit in more with the SID/MAC timeline.

And remember Crosby is only making 8.7M/yr. he did that to allow the other 3M to be spent of the team.

And yes, still top 2 best players in the world. I would say McDavid right now. But if u gave me or anyone, any player, for 1 season right now, it would be close b/ween Crosby and McDavid. I can guarantee some coaches would pick Crosby. And the coach picking Second wouldn’t be mad at all..lol.

And can’t you read?? I don’t want them. I’d rather have Crosby. A top 3 player in the world. None of them are or will ever be him. Thanks though. PENS pass
