Yes but now look at the bottom three...
Schenn, Benn, Foote
Although Foote is good this is not a championship caliber bottom 3

I really think Cernak will get more than that unless he is a really nice guy. Also Vancouver doesn't have space. Tampa has the best team but are going to have to find some creative ways and some gems in their minors system to keep the same quality team running.

Get real Vancouver doesn't have the cap space for both Gourde and Sergachev, Gourde 5 x $5,166,666 Sergachev at least 4 x $5,000,000 Plus it's a meh offer for both.

I think the idea is to use Sergachev to dump Gourde and that maybe Gourde would waive for Vancouver but yeah the Canucks are pretty much capped out as well, they could only pull this off by dumping significant cap elsewhere like Eriksson, Sutter, etc which won't be cheap or easy considering those guys have trade protection of their own so a trade like this could be a last resort for TB but it won't be to Vancouver.

I doubt Gourde would even waive for Vancouver, And Julien Brisebois definitely wouldn't use Sergachev to move Gourde's contract possibly a 1st and prospect to move Gourde but using Sergachev would be insanity.

I tend to agree but what cap space there is around the league is drying up, if they get desperate ya never know.

I'm guessing there's going to be some LTIR shenanigans with Stamkos and maybe Coburn as well with the rfa's signing short team friendly bridge deals for Tampa to get cap compliant, could also see Johnson buried for a tiny bit of cap savings and to piss him off with and then they'll send him off to Seattle.

I took Benns contract to make it more affordable. They will likely have to make some moves to sign Sergy tho

Teams over cap 32m ish: NYI VAN TBL VGK NYR TML WSH MTL CAR COL CGY EDM. Only a handful of teams with cap who mostly don't want to spend to help.
Gourde and Coburn say nice try.
