Tampa Navigates the Cap

Description
This is my attempt at what I think Tampa could do to keep the band together.

Paquette, Coburn and one of Johnson, Gourde, Palat and Killorn got to go for Tampa to squeeze under the cap. I chose Killorn because he has a modifed NMC whereas the other three have NTC.

I chose Minnesota for Paquette because I think he fits what Guerin would be looking for and he seems to be trying to bring in additional centers to move around in his lineup (Bonino, Bjustad, Johanson).

Coburn to Anaheim, simple camp dump and bring back a fringe NHLer in Carrick on a minimum deal. Coburn fills the void left by Gudbranson in Anaheim and much cheaper for them.

I can see Nashville making a play for Killorn after losing Smith and Granlund. The return is worth less than what Killorn's value is IMO, but I think Tampa is going to have to accept a lesser return to move the cap out, similar to what Vegas did with Nate Schmidt.

Now for the signings...unless Tampa can find a way to move out another contract in Johnson, Palat or Gourde, the money just isn't there for the RFAs. Gave Cirelli 1.5, in similar fashion to how San Jose gave Labanc the one year, 1 mil deal last season. Then the rest of the cap is split between Cernak and Sergachev, where I gave the extra dough to Cernak for signing on for 2 years versus 1. I don't think Tampa will want to go through this again next year so I think they'll try to sign one of the three core RFAs to a multi year deal, which I think Cernak is the easiest target.

So Cernak gets paid more then Cirelli and Sergachev don't think so, Killorn, Coburn and Paquette get traded Cirelli and Sergachev gets lowballed and yet Tampa sill barely has enough money to fill out the rest of their roster.

Also Anaheim has less cap space than Tampa so for Anaheim to take a player either equal money or more money goes out. This Trade puts Anaheim at -1.99 Mil cap space

Yeah when people make trades they need to take into account other teams needs and cap, I mean i know Kesler will be on LTIR but i doubt they need a LD like Coburn.

Did you see the contract that Anthony DeAngelo got, Sergachev will expect something close to that.

Id be shocked if Cirelli gets less than 4m.

I think they absolutely deserve that kind of money...I just don't know where the money is going to come from. I wouldn't be surprised to see these guys take cheap 1 year deals.

I did think of that, I assumed Kesler would be on LTIR. Anaheim I can see as a fit for Coburn IMO, but in general, I think his contract is one Tampa needs to shed so he could go anywhere for this scenario.

I doubt it will be as cheap as Tampa wishes it will be. "Cheap" would be 3m and even that is far out of Tampa's budget.

Bridge deals for sergachev and cirelli are absolute bare minimum 3.5/yr and honesty that's low considering they could sign offer sheets between 5 and 7 annually

Sergachev maybe. If anyone is offering Cirelli $7m right now, they’re delusional.

I meant 5-7 as both, I could definitely see 5 for cirelli guy is a future multi time sells winner
