I don't think so, last report was to expect something like the Kreider deal. I also don't see a scenario where Nuge walks only because he doesn't get 8 years.

If Bouchard is NHL ready, I do not understand why we would ever re-sign Barrie.

Why would Nugent-Hopkins sign the Kreider deal? Kreider's best season is 53 points compared to Nugent-Hopkins 69 points Nugent-Hopkins is way better then Kreider and that's only a $500,000 raise for him.

Covid has changed everything, Nuge won't get 7.5 on open market. Also when Kreider signed that deal he wasn't playing with a centre as good as Draisaitl or McDavid.

7 million is what he will get and that is said in Edmonton for a while now. It is probably already a done deal as Nuge just bought a new property in is going to build a home.

His cap hit will be between 6.5-7 mil that’s # that’s been reported on I don’t see Edmonton going past a 6 yr term either teams and GMs are moving away from deals that take players past 35 yrs old, max long term deals will be reserved for the elite players, the way the new trend is players will either been pushed out of the game or retired by 35 or signing 1 yr deals on the cheap, with players getting big money after their ELD deals expire you can’t afford any bad contracts to aging vets
