The Leafs do this deal. Gardiner who I like for, and two year of JVR and a pick about 40. Little (who replaces JVR) Comrie, that firms up the Leaf netminding for years and Dano. If the Leafs don't sign Trouba, the second becomes a first.......OK, the Leafs don't sign Trouba...get a first from Winnipeg, top 5. Leafs don't sign Trouba and even if its an modest trade or offer sheet acceptance.....well there's another 1st and 2nd rounder.

How sure are you that Winnipeg's pick will be top 5? I think they will compete this year. Winnipeg probably says no to this deal. Giving up way too many quality pieces.

wouldnt it make more sense if the pick was a conditional second in which: turns into a first if he does resgin, stays as a second if he does not resign

Trouba and Little are the 2 best pieces in that deal. Why would Winnipeg do this? Like please someone break down the value on it? It is very lopsided for the Leafs. Like who in their right mind would do Trouba/Little for JVR/Gardiner... no one unless you have a huge thing against Little (who is sooo underrated) So Comrie and dano are just throw ins? What is this trade?

Chevy hangs up the phone before it even rings... let's just say that Little and JVR are an approximate even swap (even though Little is a center and Jets have lots of wingers),

That would mean the Jets are giving up Dano, Comrie AND TROUBA for Gardiner and a 2nd? That is preposterous. I can guarantee the Leafs would take Trouba for Gardiner straight up if the Jets offered.

How can he hang up a phone that hasn't rung? IT JUST DON"T MAKE NO SENSE.

I don't get the conditional pick, just assume he's signing and make it a 2nd. And pull an asset on the TOR side, it is a little lopsided. Overall, I think it's a solid idea.

I don't get any of this trade Chevy would be fire before he ever hung up the phone if he ever made a deal like this. I've said this a few time, every deal that Toronto makes on here have them dealing Gardiner why because he is not good enough. They may have been able to dump there trash last year for a return but there not going to pull that on the Jets.

Little and JVR are not even. Little is more valuable. What does JVR do better? Little 4-20 goal seasons 1-30 goal season. JVR 3-20 goal seasons 1-30 goal season. Plus Little is a great PKer and good faceoff man plus underrated defensively.

Yes, It's terrible trade for the Jets...The only reason the Leafs would ever acquire Trouba so they they would trade him. The Leafs have ZERO interest to have him on the roster. But Little and Comrie...that would be nice.

LeafsFan: Thanks on your comments. Actually I'm the least hustling person there is (I'm sure I'm tied out at the bottom with many more). On this site, I like to see fair trades...and if there is some creativity even better.
Certainly I'm interested to learn, if folks make honest statements about players on "their" teams, especially teams that I don't to get to see too often.

You're right it will never happen, Dreger already said that it would take Rielly to get Trouba out of Winnipeg not Gardiner, Gardiner isn't a need if you want Trouba it's Rielly not Gardiner.
