We cant afford it. Too expensive for us for a 4th line center right now.

Cap difference between Howden and Ryan is an addition 2.26m for the Rangers.
Assuming Strome signs for 4.5m and Lemieux signs for 1.45m, that puts the Rangers 300k over the cap.

You give up on the youth to fast. Howden is 22. Ryan will be gone in a year and Flames will have a 23-year-old center on the cheap. We're not doing it.

Yea and cap has you at 10 mill unless I'm missing something. that's why I asked if those two would cost 7 mill.

Bonus overage penalty of 3.9m against the cap.

Even though the bonuses arent calculated and paid out until the end of the year, the team has to be cap compliant when the season starts as if maximum bonuses were to be paid at the end of the year.

Far better then a 4C. If you trust Chytil at 2C, Ryan is the perfect 3C who is cheaper and more defensively responsible then Strome. And I don’t care what y’all say: Howden maybe 22 but he’s not an NHL player and will be out of the league in a year or two...

Howden is a negative in nearly every category. Give me one reason besides he’s young that he should even be apart of the Opening Night Roster? Especially considering they have guys like Barron and Gettinger sitting around...

I wouldn't mind trading him so we can seamlessly protect 7/3/1in the S.E.D. of
- Panarin
- Kreider
- Buchnevich
- Zibanejad
- Gauthier
- Lemieux
- Chytil

- Trouba
- Lindgren
- DeAngelo

- Georgiev

Would just prefer a young developmental piece and not some old expensive center on an expiring contract who probably won't work here.

I’d rather have Ryan at 3.1 over Strome at 4.5/5. Ryan would make an excellent 3C...

I dont trust Chytil as a 2C, Im hardly content with him as a 3C but hes 20 so Ill cut him some slack.

Im not saying I wouldnt want a guy like Ryan on this team, but at the current state of the franchise its not the right move. If we were making a run for the cup and we needed a depth center, sure totally on it as a rental for the playoffs, but it just makes no sense to do this.

Regardless how you feel about Strome, even though he played with Panarin, it worked and he did good.

Theres no reason to rush anything.

I didn't protect Strome? Strome will be used as a rental
