Elias Lindholm has center capabilities and qualities. Much better options than Ryan Strome of all players.

He took favorable draws all year and was still under 50%, we need a natural C who's a PK and faceoff specialist, think danault

Still have a 31 goal scorer near 80 point player over Strome being the beneficiary of Artemi Panarin. It’s getting ridiculous. Gorton isn’t addressing the center and defense issues.

C is our only real problem, our D "problem" can be solved by just developing our D prospects

Ah yes trade Strome, our most promising young C, and a 1st for slightly better Ryan Strome...

That's a pretty easy no from Calgary. Lindholm is borderline untouchable

Strome is 27. He is defensively irresponsible. Gorton has already confirmed he’s shopped him. And most obviously, a beneficiary of Artemi Panarin’s production.

Could I add? Or simply not a piece Calgary wants to move?

To be honest, I would trade Zibanejad for similar value of different players. Like if a team offers a few high quality centers I would yes/

You say that hes a beneficiary like its a bad thing. It could have been worse and he could have played with Panarin and sucked, but he didnt and he took advantage of the opportunity.

He’s a career 30-35 point player. If he played with stars like Tavares and Panarin of course he’s going to produce. They elevate his game. A 3C with a star is a 2C. He’s just not a player who can be relied on without Panarin. I want him gone. Gorton needs to walk up and find a replacement.

You make it sound like there are 1C and 2C centers a plethora just being shopped around all over the league.

Exactly why Gorton needs a beating. He relies on that to fix his issues. It’s obvious he doesn’t want to do it through the draft.

Why because they didnt want to draft Hendrix Lapierre? If in 3 years he turns into a bust, you then blame them for not taking someone else or having aweful scouting. Youre just that guy that needs something to complain about.

That’s rich. A general manager that has failed everything he’s initiated. Winning. Rebuilding. Configuring. He’s done a poor job. How are you going to win a Stanley cup without center ice men?

Also I didn’t need Lapierre. I wanted a CENTER. Not a 50th defenseman. You can only play 6 a night and he has drafted more than 10 in the last 2 drafts.

Lapierre is a center, the highest ranked one on the board when the Rangers moved up... but good on you for knowing that. When they moved up thats who I thought they were targeting.

Ill trust them till I dont, its JD's first year drafting with us and between what he built in STL and CBJ Im willing to wait and see whats in the plans. Hate the Schneider pick all you want, but seeing JD as excited as he was getting him is awesome.

I love the pick but positionally speaking it made no sense over Lapierre or a center. It’s like getting shot in the arm and treating your leg.

Trust me, when they made the pick I had flashbacks to when they took McIlrath over Tarasenko, but Im trying to be optimistic.

I will, have and plan to continue wishing for my pipedream pull that they go after Barkov after he realizes what kind of failure the Panthers organization is and its a waste of his talents.

But it’s such a reach. Something so important and they except a random team to make them available? It’s dumb.
