1) Oil have plenty of RHD, need a LHD to fill in for Klef if anyone is added this season. 2) RNH is the Oilers' only true top 6 LW (where he generally plays now, not 3C), his next contract will likely come in at the 7.25 Letang is currently at, and he is 6 years younger than Letang.

I am sorry, I see no trade here.

Why are you trading for RNH to exile him on the 3rd line?

Also I don’t see a reason for Edmonton to trade him. He fits multiple important needs for the team and I haven’t seen anything to doubt he’ll sign an extension either before the season starts or after the expansion draft.

Agree. RNH stays in EDM long term and Letang is a huge injury risk.
